Tallinn Music Week is a showcase festival, staging the best and most outstanding Estonian talent on two nights in Tallinn's most vibrant live venues; and a networking event for the music industry professionals. Tallinn Music Week is also an intensive course in Estonian music which will introduce during one weekend, the spectacular and sometimes peculiar music created and played in the country. Now in its second year, the event is in a chance to see extraordinary Estonian talent.
This year over a 100 music specialists (promoters, record company executives, managers and journalists) are heading for Tallinn from all over Europe. For three spring nights there will be over 70 artists gigging in music clubs and halls. Like last year the best in local pop, rock, electronic, urban, metal, indie, punk, folk, and jazz will be present. Tallinn Music Week program has already established itself as a worthy place to incorporate modern classical music in collaboration with Estonian Music Day.
Of special interest this year is the opening up of the event to talent from neighbouring countries. This year's festival showcases Latvian superstars Brainstorm, Lithuanian audiovisual trip-hop group Fusedmarc, and Finnish electro-pop band Jesse, indie-rockers Rubik, metal band Amorphis and rock group Eläkeläiset.
